EDISON, NJ (Dec. 12, 2023) – The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) had 35 volleyball student-athletes named to the 2023 Academic All-District Volleyball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators.
Representing the MAAC were 21 volleyball student-athletes from seven different institutions. Fairfield University, Marist College, Niagara University and Saint Peter’s University led the conference with a combined 16 honorees, four from each school, followed by Canisius University with three selections and Manhattan and Rider University with one selection apiece.
The 2023 Academic All-District® Volleyball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Academic All-District® honorees are considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early January.

With 11 institutions strongly bound by the sound principles of quality and integrity in academics and excellence in athletics, the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) is in its 43rd year of competition during the 2023-24 academic year. Current conference members include: Canisius University, Fairfield University, Iona University, Manhattan College, Marist College, Mount St. Mary’s University, Niagara University, Quinnipiac University, Rider University, Saint Peter’s University, and Siena College. Merrimack College and Sacred Heart University will join the MAAC as full members in the 2024-25 academic year, expanding the conference to 13 institutions.
