Edison, NJ (Feb. 1, 2023) – Marist has been selected as this year’s favorites in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) according to the results of the Men’s Lacrosse Preseason Coaches’ Poll. Marist’s
Jojo Pirreca was voted Preseason Player of the Year by the leagues head coaches.
The Red Foxes received 95 points and six first place votes to finish first in the coaches’ poll, and narrowly edge out Manhattan who finished with 93 points and the four remaining first place votes. Siena finished third in the poll with 74 total points followed by MAAC newcomer Mount St. Mary’s with 64 points. Preseason favorites, Marist, also have the preseason Player of the Year in graduate student, Jojo Pirreca who was the 2022 MAAC Co-Offensive Player of the Year and unanimous First Team All-MAAC selection.

The 2023 MAAC Men's Lacrosse Championship is a six-team, single-elimination tournament taking place between April 29-May 6, 2023. The tournament will be hosted by the higher seeds in the Opening Round and by the highest seed for the Semifinals and Championship.
