EDISON, NJ (Feb. 1, 2023) – In Tuesday night’s Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) men’s basketball standalone game, Quinnipiac University defeated Marist College to earn its MAAC-leading 16th overall win of 2022-23.

Quinnipiac earned another home win on Tuesday night in Hamden, as the Bobcats defeated Marist, 72-66, in a MAAC men's basketball contest. The win was the fourth straight at home for the Bobcats as the team improved to 7-4 in the MAAC and a MAAC-best 16-6 overall on the season. The Red Foxes fall to 3-9 in the league after dropping their fifth straight game. Marist jumped out to an early 14-point lead with just over five minutes to go in the first half and led by four points at the break (40-36). Marist's 40 points were its most in the first half this season. Despite the strong first half, the Bobcats battled back in the second half and outscored Marist 36-26, highlighted by a 12-1 run over the final 4:13 to earn the home win. Matt Balanc scored a game-high 18 points while Dezi Jones scored 14 points, nine assists and five rebounds, followed by Luis Kortright’s 12 points and Tyrese Williams’ 11 points. Patrick Gardner led Marist with 17 points followed by Isaiah Brickner with 14 points.
