Quinnipiac’s Horan and Marist’s Ahr & Phippen Earn Rawlings MAAC Softball Weekly Awards

Player of the Week / Rookie of the Week:
Haley Ahr, Marist
R-Fr., Union Beach, NJ, St. John Vianney
 
Marist redshirt freshman, Haley Ahr, claims both Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week honors for this week. Ahr hit .438 with seven hits, six RBIs, and 1 home run in five games at the Winthrop Tournament.
 
 
Co-Pitcher’s of the Week:
 
Calista Phippen, Marist
Gr., Kinderhook, NY, Ichabod
 
Marist’s Phippen went 1-1 this past weekend and recorded a 1.75 ERA in 12 innings pitched. Phippen led Marist to a 9-1 win over NC A&T on 2/17 at the Winthrop Invitational.
 
Sydney Horan, Quinnipiac
So., Kennett Square, PA, Unionville
 
Sydney Horan pitched 14.1 innings with an ERA of .97 over the weekend leading Quinnipiac to a 2-0 record, with wins over Lehigh and Bucknell. Horan pitched a complete shutout in both games she started and she totaled 13 Ks while opponents batted .113 off her on the weekend. 
 

 
The 2023 MAAC Softball Championship is a six-team double elimination tournament taking place between May 10-14, 2023. The championship will be hosted by the highest seed.
