Sophomore Walter Clayton Jr. led Iona in two double-digit MAAC wins and to extend its winning streak to nine games in victories at Mount St. Mary's Friday and versus Siena at home Sunday. Clayton Jr. averaged 23.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 5.5 steals per game and converted 17-of-18 free throw attempts in the two contests. Clayton Jr. posted a game-high 28 points vs. the Mountaineers on 60.0% (9-for-15) shooting from the field and a 9-for-9 effort from the free throw line while adding four assists and four steals. On Sunday, he led with 18 points, four rebounds, five assists and a career-best seven steals, the highest single-game total in the MAAC this season and the highest for the Gaels in seven seasons. Clayton Jr. ranked No. 3 in scoring among MAAC competitors this week, his steals average was more than double the no. 2 performer and free throw percentage the highest among MAAC players attempting more than five this past weekend.
Rookie of the Week
Michael Eley, Siena

Eley averaged 10.0 points in a pair of road games at the top-two teams in the MAAC Standings last week. He scored eight points, grabbed four rebounds, and dished out a pair of assists at second-place Rider Friday night, and added 12 points and two more assists Sunday afternoon at first-place Iona. This is the MAAC-leading sixth Rookie of the Week honor for Eley this season.
