Canisius’ O’Connell and Manhattan’s Segmuller Named Hercules Tires MAAC Student-Athletes of the Week

Edison, NJ (Feb. 8, 2023) – Canisius' Liam O'Connell and Manhattan's Teddy Segmuller have been named the Hercules Tires Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Student-Athletes of the Week.

O'Connell was part of program-record 3:04.82 in the 400 Free Relay at the Magnus Invite in mid-November. The Hamburg, N.Y., product also has nine individual first-place finishes so far. He also swam a leg of one first place relay this season. O'Connell graduated with his undergraduate degree in political science and is currently working forwards his master's in business administration. He is a three-time MAAC All-Academic Team selection.

Segmuller is a senior swimmer on the Manhattan swimming team. She also serves as the SAAC Vice President. This season, Segmuller, swam in the team's dual meet against Iona, winning the 50-yard freestyle in 25.30. In the same event against Saint Francis, she came in second finishing in 25.79.
