HOUSTON, TX (Mar. 28, 2023) – The rosters for the 2023 NABC – Reese’s Division I College All-Star Game have been finalized and features a pair from the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC). Selected to the West All-Stars roster is Marist College standout Patrick Gardner, while newly-named Iona University head men’s basketball coach Tobin Anderson will lead the East All-Stars as their head coach.
The All-Star game will take place on Friday, March 31 at 4:30 p.m. ET at NRG Stadium in Houston as part of Reese’s Final Four Friday. The game will be broadcast live on CBS Sports Network, and admission to the game and Reese’s Final Four Friday is free.
Gardner was named First Team NABC All-District, Second Team All-MAAC, and to the MAAC All-Championship Team this season. He ranked in the top 10 in the MAAC in four statistical categories, including second in scoring. His 631 points were the third most in Marist's 43 seasons as a Division I program. Gardner, who previously played at Nassau Community College and Saint Michael's College, finished his collegiate career with 2,151 points.
Anderson was named the head coach at Iona last week after leading Fairleigh Dickinson to just the second No. 16 seed-over-No. 1 seed upset in NCAA Tournament history. Anderson's FDU team went 21-16 overall this season, earning the NEC's automatic bid. Before the Knights' upset of Purdue, they defeated Texas Southern in the First Four.
Anderson has also held prior head coaching roles at St. Thomas Aquinas, Hamilton and Clarkson.
