Zaria Shazer claims MAAC Player of the Week honors for the first time this season in the final Women’s Basketball weekly awards for the 2022-23 season. In the Red Foxes 1-1 outing, Zaria Shazer led the Red Foxes averaging 23.5 points per game and 8.0 rebounds per game. In Marist's victory over Iona, Shazer recorded a double-double, scoring 22 points and collecting 11 rebounds, along with recording five steals and three assists. For the week, Shazer went 13-for-15 (.867) from the free throw line and 17-for-38 (.447) from the field.
 
 
Rookie of the Week
Sisi Eleko, Canisius
Fr., Montreal, Quebec, New Hope Academy
 
Sisi Eleko earns Rookie of the Week honors for the sixth time this season, Eleko had a strong week for Canisius, averaging 12.0 PPG, 5.3 RPG and totaled eight assists. Against Saint Peter's she had her best game of the week, scoring 18 points on perfect 8-of-8 shooting with eight rebounds and a steal to compliment during the Griffs 89-80 overtime win. Versus Mount St. Mary's on March 2, she had five points and an assist and to conclude the week against Siena, she had a team best 13 points while adding in a steal.
