Edison, NJ (Mar. 8, 2023) – Saint Peter’s Clardo Nestor and Marist’s Shinae Carrington have been named the Hercules Tires Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Student-Athletes of the Week.

Clardo Nestor had a stellar outing this past weekend at the prestigious IC4A/ECAC Championships. Nestor started his weekend by qualifying for the men's 800 with a time of 1:53.81. He then shaved down his time by .4 seconds in the finals, netting him a sixth-place finish with a time of 1:53.41. Nestor then went on to compete in the men's 4x400, where his second-leg time of 48.27 paced the team to a first-place finish in the preliminaries. In the finals, his second-leg time of 49.93 helped the Peacocks take the bronze medal back to Jersey City.

Carrington has achieved in and out of the pool over her time at Marist. Carrington has achieved Dean’s List honors five times at Marist. As a freshman, Carrington won MAAC Rookie of the Week in 2020. During the Red Foxes championship run in 2021, Carrington achieved MAAC All-Championship Team, All-MAAC First Team, CoSIDA Academic All-District, and MAAC All-Academic Team. Last season, Carrington made All-MAAC Second Team and CWPA All-America Honorable Mention. Carrington scored 23 goals and tallied 27 assists on the 2022 season. Carrington’s 41 steals on the season put her second on the team. So far this season, Carrington has scored 15 goals for the Red Foxes.
