Manhattan’s Decker & Gill, Iona’s Tabois and Siena’s Gardner Earn MAAC Outdoor Track & Field Weekly Awards

Men’s Track Performer of the Week
Jadyn Tabois, Iona

Jadyn Tabois earned first place honors at the 2023 Duke Invitational in both the 100- and 200-meter dash, setting a program record in the latter. Tabois time of 20.87 lowered his own school record in the 200-meter dash by .2 seconds in his season debut in the event. The junior sprinter broke a 36-year-old school record at the MAAC Championship last season. Tabois finished more than a second ahead of Eastern Kentucky's Jake Welch. Tabois also blazed a first-place finish in the 100-meter dash. His 10.56 was .07 shy of his personal best set last season.

Manhattan’s RJ Decker won the hammer throw at Mets, launching the winning throw 60.07 meters.
 
 
Women’s Track Performer of the Week
Claire Gardner, Siena 
So., Chestnut Ridge, NY, Albertus Magnus
 
 
Siena’s Claire Gardner ran a time of 2:13.51 in the 800 at the Dalton EBanks Invitational, good for the fastest 800 time in the MAAC thus far this season.
 
Women’s Field Performer of the Week
Mary Gill, Manhattan
Fr., Ft. Lauderdale, FL
 
Manhattan’s Mary Gill won the hammer throw at the Metropolitan Championships, launching the hammer 55.85m.
 
 
 
 
The 2023 MAAC Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships will take place on Saturday and Sunday, May 6-7, at Morgan Track in Emmitsburg, Maryland on the campus of Mount St. Mary’s University. The two-day meet will be hosted by The Mount for the first time in MAAC history.
