Ava Fitzmaurice, Siena

Siena’s Ava Fitzmaurice batted .500 (10-20) with 11 RBI’s, five runs scored, two doubles, two triples, and a home run over six games last week, leading the Saints to a 3-1 conference record during that time. She also slugged .950, held a .565 on-base percentage, and stole three bases. The Greenville, NY native went 2-1 in the circle with 13 strikeouts over 15 innings as well.
Pitcher of the Week
Calista Phippen, Marist
Gr., Kinderhook, NY, Ichabod Crane
Calista Phippen did not allow a run over 9.2 innings in her two appearances last week, as she went 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA and 0.83 WHIP. Phippen allowed just four total hits and struck out eight against four walks. In a relief appearance against Cornell on April 5, Phippen entered the game with the bases loaded, one out, and the Red Foxes trailing 4-0 in the top of the third. The Kinderhook, NY native stranded all three runners, and then added two more scoreless innings as Marist came back to win 11-4. She struck out three and allowed just one hit as she needed just 36 pitches to get through 2.2 innings. Phippen then tossed a three-hitter with five strikeouts as the Red Foxes earned a 1-0 triumph over Saint Peter's on April 8. It was Marist's first 1-0 win in four years.
Rookie of the Week
Haley Ahr, Marist
R-Fr., Union Beach, NJ, St. John Vianney
Haley Ahr hit .400 (4-for-10) with a 1.055 OPS (.600 slugging, .455 on-base) as Marist went 3-0 this past week. The redshirt freshman added three runs scored, three RBIs, two doubles, and a walk as she hit safely in all three games. Ahr went 2-for-3 with three runs scored, two RBIs, two doubles, and a walk as Marist scored 11 unanswered runs in an 11-4 triumph over Cornell on April 5. In the first game of a doubleheader against Saint Peter's on April 8, she led off the fourth inning with a single, and the game's only run was scored later that inning. In the second game, she had an RBI single in Marist's seven-run second inning.
The 2023 MAAC Softball Championship is a six-team double elimination tournament taking place between May 10-14, 2023. The championship will be hosted by the highest seed.
