EDISON, NJ (Apr. 11, 2023) – The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) duo of Manhattan College’s Josh Roberts and Marist College’s Patrick Gardner has been selected to participate in 2023 Portsmouth Invitational.
 
The 69th annual Portsmouth Invitational Tournament is an NBA Pre-Draft camp that consists of the top collegiate seniors in the country. A total of 64 seniors will participate in the four-day event. Eight teams will have eight-man rosters and will play three games each between Wednesday and Saturday at Churchland High School in Portsmouth, VA.
 
Roberts was named MAAC Co-Defensive Player of the Year and Third Team All-MAAC honors this season. Roberts finished second in the country in field goal percentage (70.2). That led the MAAC by 15 percentage points. The 70.2-percent clip is a new single-season program record at Manhattan. The Troy, Ala. native also led the MAAC in blocks per game (1.85). This season, Roberts averaged 12.6 points, 9.6 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks per game for the Jaspers during his final season in Riverdale.
 
Roberts will be playing on Sales Systems, LTD.
 
Gardner was named First Team NABC All-District, Second Team All-MAAC, and to the MAAC All-Championship Team in the 2022-23 season. At the end of March, he participated in the State Farm College Team Skills and & 3X3U Championships as well as the Reese's Division I All-Star Game. His total of 631 points this season was the third highest in Marist's 43 years as a Division I program. Gardner, who previously played at Nassau Community College, scored 2,151 collegiate points.
 
Gardner will be playing on Norfolk Sports Club.
