Edison, NJ (Apr. 12, 2023) – Niagara’s Gurustat Makkar and Saint Peter’s Sydney Senerchia have been named the Hercules Tires Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Student-Athletes of the Week.

Gurustat Makkar is in his sophomore year at Niagara University and holds a 3.81 GPA as a finance major. As a member of the Niagara men's tennis team Makkar is 4-0 in MAAC and has seven wins on the season in dual matches. The Chandigarh, India native was a second team All-MAAC selection last season. 
 
 
Sydney Senerchia

Softball
 
Sydney Senerchia has been an anchor at the front of the rotation for the Peacocks this season. She has posted a 9-3 record with a 2.32 ERA. She tossed five innings in a win over Coppin State on April 5th with three strikeouts. Senerchia added a complete game effort in a 1-0 loss to conference opponent Marist, registering two strikeouts. She recorded a season-high six strikeouts in a complete game win over FDU on March 22nd.
