Lake Buena Vista, FL (Apr. 23, 2023) – Siena College claimed the 2023 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Men’s Golf Championship Sunday afternoon at Disney’s Palm Golf Course.
Siena College took the overall lead on day two of the MAAC Men’s Golf Championship by shooting 290 as a team. Once the Saints took the lead, they wound not relinquish it en route to capturing the 2023 MAAC Men’s Golf Championship. Dan Brooks led Siena in first two rounds (68,73) and would finish tied for third on the individual leaderboard with an overall score of 213(-3).
The 2023 MAAC Men’s Coach of the Year honor would go to Siena’s Steven Jensen. As the 2023 MAAC Coach of the year, Jensen, placed two players on the All-MAAC Team, with Dan Brooks claiming the third position, 213(-3) and Nolan Crowley in the fifth position 216(E).
McLeod Trophy honors for top Male performer would go to Fairfield University’s, Killian McGinley, who led all performers with a score of 210 (-6) over the three-round tournament.
Iona freshman, Connor Henderson, was named 2023 MAAC Rookie of the Year. Henderson recorded an overall score of 213 (-3) which placed him tied for third on the individual leaderboard and All-MAAC team.
