The No. 4 seeded Saints hosted the No. 5 Pioneers at Hickey Field on Saturday in the first game of the opening round of the 2023 MAAC Men’s Lacrosse Championship. Siena earned a 13-11 win over Sacred Heart, led by the play of Pratt Reynolds, Zac Schuette, and Christian Watts. The Saints will move on to the semifinal round of the 2023 MAAC Men’s Lacrosse Championship on Thursday, 5/4 where they will take on top seeded Manhattan College.

-Siena led 9-8 at the half.
-Pratt Reynolds led the Saint’s offensive attack (5 goals)
-Zac Schuette recorded 2 goals.
-Christian Watts produced 1goal, 1 assist, and six groundballs.
-Chris Yanchoris recorded three saves in 60 minutes of action.
-Siena advances to the semifinal round that will take place on 5/4 at Manhattan College, where they will take on the top ranked Jaspers.
Sacred Heart Notes
-The Sacred Heart offense was led by Morgan O’Reilly (4 goals, 1 assist)
-Michael Moreschi and Skylar Wilde added in two goals apiece in the contest.
-Alec Pazoenza recorded 13 saves in 60 minutes of action.
-Sacred Heart finishes the season with a record of 5-10 (5-4 MAAC).

The No. 3 Marist Red Foxes recorded a program best 29 goals in the opening round of the 2023 MAAC Men’s Lacrosse Championship to take down the No. 6 Quinnipiac Bobcats by a score of 29-19. Marist will move on to the semifinal round of the 2023 MAAC Men’s Lacrosse Championship where they will face No.2 Mount St. Mary’s University on 5/4.

-Marist led 14-11 at the half.
- Jamison Embury and Jojo Pirreca each had six goals and two assists to lead the Red Foxes.
-Jake Deacy had 6 points in the match (5 goals, 1 assist).
-Goalie Daniel O’Meara had six saves in 60 minutes of play.
-Dylan Bedell recorded 20 groundballs on the day and went 30-48 in face-offs.
-The 50 faceoffs that took place in Saturday’s contest set a new NCAA record.

-Quinnipiac was led by Evan Perry’s four goals and one assist.
- Quartet of John Delucia, Dylan Donnery, Jake Tellers and Trevor Douglas recorded three goals each.
-Steven Germain recorded six points (5 assists, 1 goal).
-Nick DiMuccio had 11 saves in 60 minutes of action.
-Quinnipiac finishes the season with a record of 7-7 (5-4 MAAC).
