21 MAAC Outdoor Track & Field Student-Athletes Qualify for NCAA East First Round

EDISON, NJ (May 18, 2023) – A total of 21 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) student-athletes have been selected to participate in the 2023 NCAA Men’s & Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Championships East First Round, announced by the NCAA today.
 
A total of 15 men and six women MAAC student-athletes will compete in the east first round from May 24-27 at Hodges Stadium on the campus of the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Fl. Iona University boasted the most qualifiers from the conference with eight men’s runners, seven of which will compete in distance races. Mount St. Mary’s University followed with a quartet of men’s participants that included a pair of jumpers, a sprinter and a hurdler. Manhattan College will be represented by a trio of hammer throwers – two women’s and one men’s – and Rider University also earned three qualifiers, with a men’s and women’s long jumper and a women’s distance runner. Siena College’s had a men’s and women’s distance duo selected and Quinnipiac University earned a women’s qualifier in the steeplechase.

The qualifiers out of the east and west regions will compete in the NCAA Division I Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Championships held June 7-10 in Austin, Texas.
