Edison, NJ (May. 3, 2023) – Fairfield’s Matthew Torres and Siena’s Hannah Field have been named the Hercules Tires Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Student-Athletes of the Week.

Men’s Swimming & Diving

Matthew Torres qualified for the Paralympics World Championships which places him in contention for qualification at the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris next summer. Torres qualified for the 2020 Paralympic Games in Tokyo and earned a bronze medal in the 400 free. Torres participated in most freestyle distances with the Stags in 2022-23, competing in the 100, 200, 400, 800, 1000, and 1650 freestyle during the campaign.
 
 
Hannah Field
Siena
Women’s Lacrosse
 
A four-year member of the program who came to Siena prior to the 2020 Season, Field is a two-year team captain who has been a consistent presence on the team's defensive line. She has started in 50 of 54 games played over her Siena career and has amassed 35 caused turnovers and 34 ground balls. A product of nearby Watervliet, New York, Field earned a bachelor's degree in marketing and is currently pursuing a Master's in Business Administration with a 3.95 cumulative GPA. She was named the Siena Leo Dufort Female Student Athlete of the Month for February 2023.
