2023 MAAC Women’s Rowing Championship Set for Friday at Fish Creek in Saratoga Springs, NY

EDISON, NJ (May 10, 2023) – The 2023 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Women's Rowing Championship is set for Friday, May 12 at Fish Creek in Saratoga Springs, NY. This will be the first time the MAAC will host the event at Fish Creek. Canisius College, Drake University, Fairfield University, Jacksonville University, Marist College, Sacred Heart University, and Stetson University will compete for the league title and the conference's automatic qualifier for the 2023 NCAA Division I Women’s Rowing Championship.

Boat seedings for the championship will be as followed: No. 1 Jacksonville, No. 2 Fairfield, No. 3 Marist, No. 4 Sacred Heart, No. 5 Stetson, No. 6 Canisius, and No. 7 Drake.

Preseason favorite and top overall seed, Jacksonville, will look to repeat as MAAC champion and claim its program’s seventh league crown in 2023. Second-seeded Fairfield is in search of its second MAAC tournament, having only claimed the title in 2000. Marist is seeking redemption after finishing as the runner-up to Jacksonville last season, following back-to-back league crowns in 2021 and 2019. The Red Foxes have been the most dominate program in the conference, hoisting a MAAC-leading 12 championships trophies dating back to 1997. Out of the remainder of the championship field, Drake is the lone program to win a MAAC championship, doing so back in 2012.
