Marist Men’s Lacrosse Earns USILA Academic Team Award

Stofko, J. Embury & Pirreca Named Scholar All-American

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist men's lacrosse team earned the 2023 United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Academic Team Award. The Red Foxes achieved a GPA of 3.0 or higher to receive this prestigious award. The men's lacrosse team GPA for the Fall of 2022 was a 3.254 and a 3.238 for the Spring of 2023. The Red Foxes cumulative GPA for the 2022-23 academic year was a 3.246. A program record 26 student-athletes were named to the MAAC All-Academic Team this past spring.
 
Three Red Foxes were recognized as a USILA Division I Scholar All-American: Kyle Stofko, Jamison Embury and Jojo Pirreca. The Red Foxes have a rich history of fellow Scholar All-Americans. Most recently, Jason Intermesoli was recognized as a Scholar All-American in 2022. 
 
Stofko, Embury and Pirreca were chosen to participate in the 2023 USILA North-South Senior All-Star game, after winning the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championship. Pirreca was named MAAC Offensive Player of the Year and First Team All-MAAC. Stofko and Embury earned Second Team All-MAAC.
 
Pirreca completed his undergraduate degree in Business Administration and received an MBA. Pirecca finished his undergraduate with a 3.294 and his maters with a 3.514. Pirreca finished the season leading the Red Foxes with 68 points, scoring 45 goals, and dishing out 23 assists.
 
Jamison graduated with his undergraduate in Business Administration with a 3.854 GPA. Embury graduated with his MBA with a 4.00 GPA. Embury finished the year tallying 64 points, 40 goals and 24 assists.
 
Stofko graduated with an undergraduate degree in Business Admiration and a Master of Business Administration. Stofko finished his undergraduate degree with a 3.325 GPA and his graduate degree with a 3.586 GPA. Stofko played a huge role in the Red Foxes defense, forcing 27 caused turnovers this season. Stofko broke the Red Foxes career record for caused turnovers, finishing his career with 63.
