Manhattan Chosen as Host of 2023 MAAC Men’s & Women’s Cross Country Championships at Twin Ponds on the Farm in Montgomery, NY

The 2023 championships will be the first time the races will be held at Twin Ponds on the Farm in the 43 year history of the MAAC

EDISON, NJ (July 20, 2023) – The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) has selected Manhattan College as the host institution for the 2023 MAAC Men’s & Women’s Cross Country Championships, announced by the league office today. Manhattan will host the championships at Twin Ponds on the Farm in Montgomery, New York on Saturday, October 28, 2023. The 2023 championships will be the first time the races will be held at Twin Ponds on the Farm in the 43 year history of the MAAC.
 
“The MAAC is excited to partner with Manhattan College to host the 2023 MAAC Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Championships at Twin Ponds at the Farm in Montgomery, New York,” said MAAC Senior Associate Commissioner/Chief Operating Officer, Whitney Swab. “The site is well suited to create an unrivaled atmosphere for student-athletes to showcase their talents. Centrally located in the footprint of the MAAC membership, Twin Ponds on the Farm is a new venue for the MAAC Cross Country Championships, and the MAAC is looking forward to the event.”
 
Manhattan has served as the host institution of the cross country championships 28 times, the most amongst all current and former MAAC members, previously hosting the championships at historic Van Cortlandt Park in Bronx, NY. Despite hosting the most cross country championships since 1981, Manhattan has not hosted the meet in a decade, last doing so in 2013.
 
“We were thrilled to hear that we were awarded the bid for the 2023 MAAC Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Championships,” said Manhattan College Director of Cross Country, Track and Field, Kerri Inman. “12th Rock has proven a great partner in event management with our Jasper Fall XC Invitational and will help Manhattan College and the MAAC provide a top notch championship experience for the student-athletes. Hosting also adds that much more fuel to the fire as we prepare to make our Jasper community proud this fall season.”
 
Siena College was originally awarded hosting rights of the 2023 MAAC Men’s & Women’s Cross Country Championships earlier this year, but is no longer able to host due to setbacks with the Crossings of Colonie venue.
