FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- The Fairfield University men's and women's swimming and diving teams both earned Spring Scholar-Athlete All-America honors from the Collegiate Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA). The organization honored more than 700 teams over all NCAA Divisions as well as the NAIA and NJCAA levels.
The Stags' men's swimming and diving team combined for a 3.57 grade point average during the spring semester while the Fairfield women's swimming and diving squad collected a 3.55 grade point average last semester. The CSCAA Scholar All-America committee honors collegiate teams each semester which post a 3.0 or higher cumulative grade point average.
Both teams were also well represented on the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) All-Academic team, an award that goes to a student-athlete who collects a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or better. The women's program added 19 student-athletes to the All-Academic team while the men's program placed 12 student-athletes on the academic squad.
