Women's Rowing 7/22/2023 9:00:00 AM Eight Canisius Rowers Earn CRCA Scholar Athlete Honors Eight members of the Canisius rowing program were named Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) Scholar-Athletes, the CRCA announced today. The Golden Griffins' eight honorees are the most for the program since 2017. To qualify, a student-athlete must meet both academic and athletic requirements, such as being in at least their second year of eligibility and maintaining an average cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher. Additionally, student-athletes must have rowed in their institution's NCAA eligible boats for a minimum of 75 percent of the 2023 spring season races or race in an NCAA boat at their conference championship and/or NCAA Championship. Jaime Bennett, Maddie Folsom, Eliza Hanson, Hannah Kenefick, Emma Maturo, Macey Schneider, Brianna Shaw and Brianna Sorrentino were the eight Griffs to be recognized. In addition to their CRCA honors, Canisius had 12 student-athletes tabbed to the MAAC All-Academic Team. To be eligible for the MAAC All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must complete two semesters at their institution and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 on a 4.0 scale.
