EDISON, NJ (Aug. 17, 2023) – The 2023-24 athletic season officially kicks off today for the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) with the commencement of the women’s soccer campaign. Nine of the 11 MAAC squads will be in action today and 10 total teams will be playing during opening weekend.
 
Five of the nine MAAC teams will open up their respective seasons on their home pitch today, beginning with Saint Peter’s against LIU at 1:00 p.m. Fairfield welcomes Binghamton at 4:00 p.m., Siena hosts Central Connecticut at 5:00 p.m., Canisius plays Colgate at 6:00 p.m., while Rider takes on Wagner at 7:00 p.m.
 
Niagara is the lone unit taking the field on Saturday, visiting St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota at high noon.
 
Opening weekend concludes on Sunday with eight bouts on the docket, headlined by the season-opener for defending MAAC Champions, Quinnipiac traveling to Providence for a 6:30 p.m. date. Additionally, three units will be in action on their home turfs with both Fairfield against UMass Lowell and Siena versus Syracuse at 1:00 p.m., while Rider plays host to LIU at 5:00 p.m.

The 2023 MAAC Women's Soccer Championship will take place from October 29 through November 5. The six-team, single-elimination championship will be hosted by the higher seed of each match. The opening round will take place on Sunday, October 29, followed by the semifinals on Thursday, November 2, and concluding with the championship match on Sunday, November 5.
