EDISON, NJ (Aug. 24, 2023) – The 2023 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) men’s soccer season begins today with a full slate of matches. All 11 MAAC teams take the pitch today, while 15 total contests will be played during opening weekend.
The non-conference stanza kicks off with a pair of afternoon matches, beginning with Canisius at 3:00 p.m., making a road trip to Saint Francis (PA), and defending MAAC Champions, Quinnipiac, hosting Rhode Island at 4:00 p.m.
The remaining nine teams take the field in the evening, headlined by a pair of MAAC teams facing nationally ranked opponents and two additional MAAC squads joining Quinnipiac home season openers. At 6:00 p.m., Iona visits ACC powerhouse and No. 15 nationally ranked Virginia, while Niagara travels to No. 22 Akron for a 7:00 p.m. start. Fairfield and Mount St. Mary’s each kick-off its home docket at 7:00 p.m., when the Stags welcome Fairleigh Dickinson and the Mountaineers host Bucknell.
Opening weekend concludes on Sunday with a quartet of bouts on the stanza. In the afternoon, Niagara visits Robert Morris at 1:00 p.m., then in the evening at 7:00 p.m., Fairfield is home against Bryant, Saint Peter’s visits High Point, and Marist hosts Colgate.

The 2023 MAAC Men's Soccer Championship will take place from November 5-12. The six-team, single-elimination championship will be hosted by the higher seed of each match. The opening round will take place on Sunday, November 5, followed by the semifinals on Thursday, November 9, and concluding with the championship match on Sunday, November 12.
