2023 MAAC Men’s & Women’s Cross Country Seasons Get Underway This Weekend

EDISON, NJ (Sep. 1, 2023) – The 2023 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) men’s & women’s cross country seasons start this weekend with 10 out of the league’s 11 schools in action.
 
Races get underway this morning with Mount St. Mary’s hosting the Mount 5k Duals at 11:00 a.m. in Emmitsburg, MD. Canisius will serve as host of the Little Three Championships in Buffalo, NY at 5:00 p.m. with fellow MAAC member and “Battle of the Bridge” rival Niagara also participating in the meet. The final MAAC teams in action on opening day will be Rider, which travels to nearby Princeton, NJ to race in the New Jersey Jam, beginning at 6:00 p.m.
 
On Saturday, September 2, Marist welcomes a quartet of MAAC schools to Vassar Farm in Poughkeepsie, NY for the Marist Season Opener. In addition to the Red Foxes, Fairfield, Iona, Manhattan, and Siena will all be participants in the races. Quinnipiac are the final men’s and women’s teams that will compete during the weekend, heading to Stony Brook, NY for the Stony Brook Season Opener at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday morning.

The 2023 MAAC Men’s & Women’s Cross Country Championships will be held at Twin Ponds on the Farm in Montgomery, New York on Saturday, October 28, 2023. The 2023 championships will be the first time the races will be held at Twin Ponds on the Farm and the meets will be hosted by Manhattan College for the 29th time.
