Mount St. Mary’s Chipi and Manhattan’s Scaglione Named MAAC Cross Country Weekly Award Winners

Men’s Runner of the Week
Michael Chipi, Mount St. Mary's

Michael Chipi finished in first place at the LVC Dutchmen Invitational held at Union Canal Park on Saturday morning. Chipi grabbed the individual title by finishing the eight-kilometer course in a time of 25:33.1, topping the field of 169 runners.
 
Women’s Runner of the Week
Andria Scaglione, Manhattan
Gr., Oceanside, NY, Oceanside
 
For the second straight meet and weekend, Andria Scaglione won an individual title. Her time of 19:31.90 in the 5k at the Fordham Fiasco at Van Cortlandt Park was 28 seconds ahead of the runner-up. With a pace of 6.17 she crushed the field at the prestigious VCP. Her time helped guide the Jaspers to a first place team finish.


The 2023 MAAC Men’s & Women’s Cross Country Championships will be held at Twin Ponds on the Farm in Montgomery, New York on Saturday, October 28, 2023. The 2023 championships will be the first time the races will be held at Twin Ponds on the Farm and the meets will be hosted by Manhattan College for the 29th time.
