Quinnipiac’s Aasen and Iona's Juran Named Hercules Tires MAAC Student-Athletes of the Week

Male Student-Athlete of the Week
Brage Aasen, Quinnipiac, Men’s Soccer

The graduate student midfielder has led the Bobcats this year as one of its captains. Brage has started all five games for the Bobcats this season, clocking 374 minutes on the pitch. He has scored two goals and assisted on another. His first goal came against Boston College on Aug. 28 and he scored and tallied an assist on the road against La Salle on Sept. 9. 
 
Female Student-Athlete of the Week
Samantha Juran, Iona, Women’s Volleyball
Gr., Glendale, NY. / St. Francis Prep
 
Juran led the Gaels to three straight victories last week and helped the Gaels start 2-0 in conference play. The 5’9 setter recorded 84 assists across nine sets played. In the win over Rider she notched seven service aces and became the 12th player in Iona history with 100 career aces. She also added four blocks and 20 digs.
