EDISON, NJ (Jan. 19, 2024) – The 2024 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) water polo season is set to start on Saturday, January 20 with two teams kicking off their respective seasons out west.
Marist College, selected third in the 2024 preseason poll, is headed to Santa Barbara, CA for the University California Santa Barbara Invitational. The Red Foxes will face Whittier College and UCLA on Saturday and UC San Diego and Pomona-Pitzer on Sunday, January 21.
Wagner College, the MAAC preseason co-favorite, heads to Arizona for the ASU Invitational. Wagner takes on Salem University and Arizona State University on Saturday and California Lutheran University and Loyola Marymount University on Sunday.
Four MAAC squads are slated to begin their season on January 27
th at the Villanova Invitational. The quartet included host, Villanova, Iona University, LIU, and Mount St. Mary’s University. Villanova is set to take the pool against Mercyhurst and then MAAC foe, Iona. The Gaels will also face Gannon at the meet. The reigning 2023 MAAC Water Polo champions and preseason co-favorite, LIU will be taking on Saint Francis and Michigan. Mount St. Mary’s will battle Mercyhurst and Gannon.

The 2024 MAAC Water Polo Championship will take place April 26-28. The six-team, single-elimination championship will be hosted by Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY.
