Rider’s McGeechan, Siena’s Glinder and Dobruna Win Hercules Tires MAAC Men’s Soccer Weekly Awards

McGeechan scored a goal, assisted on another and cleared two Quinnipiac shots off the goal line for saves in the Broncs' 2-0 win over the Bobcats on Saturday. McGeechan dished out an assist on the game’s opening goal seven minutes into action. He added an insurance goal for Rider, scoring in the 79th minute of play, leading to the shutout win.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Bennet Glinder, Siena

Bennet Glinder posted his sixth shutout of the season en route to earning his fourth victory of the year in Siena's 3-0 win over Merrimack on Saturday. Glinder’s shutout puts him in a tie for top-two nationally at six, while he comes within one of tying the single-season program record. He collected five saves in the match, including three when it was a one goal contest.
 
Rookie of the Week
Dren Dobruna, Siena

Dren Dobruna assisted on two of Siena's three goals in the team's 3-0 victory over Merrimack on Saturday. The pair of helpers brings his total over his last two outings to five, as well as a MAAC-leading seven on the season. Dobruna's feeds to Eric Svensson in the third minute handed the Saints an early 1-0 lead, as well as help deliver Svensson his first tally of the year. In the 55th minute, Dobruna connected with Ryan Lim for his first goal of the season, extending the team's lead to 2-0. Along with leading the MAAC with seven assists, Dobruna entered the program's top-10 single-season assist mark.
 
The 2024 MAAC Men’s Soccer Championship is an eight-team, single-elimination championship taking place November 10-17, 2024. Each match during the championship will be hosted by the higher seed and all rounds of the championship will reseed. The quarterfinals will take place on Sunday, November 10, followed by the semifinals on Thursday, November 14, and concluding with the championship final on Sunday, November 17.
