Manhattan’s Dahan, Rider’s Salama and Iona’s Schmelz Awarded Hercules Tires MAAC Men’s Soccer Weekly Honors

Manhattan striker Ziv Dahan scored three goals across his two appearances for the Jaspers this past week. Dahan scored twice on the set piece in Manhattan's 4-2 win over Quinnipiac and stayed hot by scoring the game-winning goal in the Jaspers' 2-0 win at Niagara. Dahan now leads the MAAC with seven goals this season and has the most points-per-game (1.36) of any player in the conference. 
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Adam Salama, Rider

In Rider’s lone contest of the week, goalkeeper Adam Salama recorded a 1-0 shutout win over Siena on Saturday. Salama made five stops in the net, posting his sixth clean sheet of the year.
 
Rookie of the Week
Fernando Schmelz, Iona
Fr., Lisbon, Portugal, CAISL
 
Fernando Schmelz picked up back-to-back clean sheet wins last week, earning 1-0 wins over Marist and Quinnipiac. Schmelz made two saves against Marist on Wednesday and recorded one save in the second half against Quinnipiac. Schmelz ranks third in the MAAC with three shutouts and a 1.143 goals against average this season.
 
The 2024 MAAC Men’s Soccer Championship is an eight-team, single-elimination championship taking place November 10-17, 2024. Each match during the championship will be hosted by the higher seed and all rounds of the championship will reseed. The quarterfinals will take place on Sunday, November 10, followed by the semifinals on Thursday, November 14, and concluding with the championship final on Sunday, November 17.
