Rider’s Giehtbrock, Niagara’s Peroni, Marist’s White, and Siena’s Adeele Hollas Earn Jersey Mike’s MAAC Volleyball Weekly Awards

Player of the Week
Paige Giehtbrock, Rider

Sophomore outside hitter Paige Giehtbrock was absolutely dominant during a 3-0 week for the Broncs, hitting .315 while averaging 4.00 kills per set, 3.08 digs per set, 0.75 aces per set, and 0.50 blocks per set. In a three-set win over Saint Peter's, she had 13 kills on .400 hitting while adding four aces. She recorded double-doubles in both of Rider's weekend victories, hitting .421 with 19 kills, adding 15 digs and three aces in a four-set win over Canisius, then recording 16 kills with 17 assists in a five-set win over previously unbeaten in the MAAC Niagara.
 
Setter of the Week
Jamison White, Marist

Graduate student Jamison White led the Red Foxes in assists this week, recording 136 across three matches. (10.5 assists/set). Against Manhattan on Oct. 6, White recorded a career-high 51 assists. In conjunction to assists, White across three matches added six kills, 20 digs and three blocks.
 
Libero of the Week
Bella Peroni, Niagara
Sr., Chardon, OH
 
Peroni averaged 5.33 digs per set for a total of 64. She also contributed 19 assists, with a season-high of 11 against Rider. Her serving was consistent, achieving a .895 serve percentage with 2 aces. Defensively, she maintained a .911 reception percentage. Peroni's all-around play was crucial in Niagara's 2-1 record for the week.
 
Rookie of the Week
Salme Adeele Hollas, Siena
Fr., Tartu, Estonia,  Hugo Treffneri Gümnaasium
 
Rookie Salme Hiollas totaled a team-high 44 kills on a .314 hitting percentage to go along with 22 digs, eight blocks and five aces in picking up conference victories against Marist and Manhattan and a close defeat to Iona.  
 
 
 
The 2024 MAAC Volleyball Championship is an eight-team, single-elimination championship taking place November 21-24, 2024 at UHY Center in Loudonville, NY on the campus of Siena College. The first round will take place on Thursday, November 21, followed by the second round on Friday, November 22, the semifinals on Saturday, November 23, and concluding with the championship final on Sunday, November 24.
