Lance Hayes had a record day at the Wagner College Seahawk Shootout, grabbing a school record in the 600m run with a time of 1:21.90 which was good for fifth out of 59 starters.
Men’s Field Athlete of the Week:
Aidan Glennon, Sacred Heart
Jr., Towaco, N.J. Montville Township
Aidan Glennon had a stellar outing at last weekend's Wagner College Seahawk Shootout, grabbing third place in shot put with a personal-best mark of 15.35m on his second attempt. Glennon currently ranks second in the conference in the event after the weekend.
Women’s Track Athlete of the Week:
Magdalena Brogioli, Sacred Heart
So., Mattapoisett, Mass., Old Rochester Regional
Sophomore sprinter and hurdler Magdalena Brogioli had a record day for SHU at the Wagner College Seahawk Shootout last Friday, breaking her own record set a year ago in the 60m hurdles, earning a time of 8.70 seconds which was third overall out of 48 starters. Her time in the 60m hurdles currently leads the MAAC. Brogioli also tied her personal best in the 60m dash, securing a time of 7.77 seconds which was seventh out of a field of 74 and ranks her third in the conference. She finished off the afternoon by helping the Pios break the school record in the 4x200m relay, breaking the nearly two decade's old record set back in 2008 with a new time of 1:42.35 with the help of Madeline Archangelo, Sierra Thompson and Annalise Nassy.
Women’s Field Athlete of the Week:
Julia Tozduman, Sacred Heart
Fy., Lyndhurst, N.J, Lyndhurst
First year Julia Tozduman had a good outing at last weekend's Wagner College Seahawk Shootout, taking fourth place in a field of 48 in the long jump. Her mark of 5.58 on her fifth attempt currently slots her in second in the MAAC in the event.
The 2025 MAAC Men's and Women's Indoor Track & Field Championships will be held on Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 22-23, 2025, at the Nike Track and Field Center at The Armory in New York, New York. The two-day meet will be hosted by Manhattan College and will be held at The Armory for the 21st consecutive year dating back to 2004.
