Saint Peter’s Janneh and Merrimack’s Fiore Earn Hercules Tires MAAC Women’s Basketball Weekly Awards

Against Manhattan,  sophomore forward Fatmata Janneh delivered an outstanding performance, logging 36 minutes on the court and scoring 26 points with impressive efficiency. She shot 10-of-21 from the field (47.6%) and was a perfect 6-of-6 from the free-throw line. Janneh dominated the boards with 12 rebounds, including 10 defensive and 2 offensive. 
Against Iona, Fatmata Janneh played 34 minutes and had an impressive offensive outing, scoring 22 points to lead her team. She shot 41.2% from the field, making 7 of 17 attempts, and contributed from the free-throw line, hitting 7 of 9 shots (77.8%). She was active on the boards, grabbing 7 rebounds, including 6 defensive boards. 
 
Rookie of the Week
Mia Fiore, Merrimack
Fr., Naragansett, R.I., St. George's
 
First-year guard Mia Fiore helped the Warriors to a 2-1 week, opening up league play with two wins over Buffalo teams Canisius and Niagara. Fiore tallied 37 points on the week, averaging 12.33 ppg. Fiore’s 16 points against Canisius was a team high and against Niagara, she stuffed the stat sheet with 17 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. She talled a total of seven steals,13 assists,and ten rebounds on the week as well.
