Senior Dakota Leffew averaged 20.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 2.5 steals in leading the Mountaineers to a 2-0 week. He opened the week with 20 points, five rebounds and five assists in the Mount's 82-78 win over Manhattan. He closed with 20 points, eight rebounds, five assists and four steals in the Mount's 96-79 win over first place Quinnipiac on Saturday. Leffew has a league-best 12 games with 20 or more points this season, including both games this week.
Rookie of the Week
Jean Aranguren, Iona
Fr., Valencia, Venezuela, Springfield Commonwealth Academy (MA)
Freshman Jean Aranguren averaged 17.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists, shooting 65% from the field and 50% from long distance. Aranguren had 14 points and three boards in a supporting role at Niagara and led the Gaels with 21 points at Canisius. He was 9-for-12 from the field against the Griffs with six rebounds, three assists, a steal and a block.
