Niagara’s Garlow and Canisius’ Chu and Previdi Earn Ticket Smarter MAAC Women’s Lacrosse Weekly Awards

Offensive Player of the Week
Lois Garlow, Niagara

Lois Garlow recorded eight goals and one assist as Niagara went 1-1 on opening weekend. Garlow scored twice and picked up an assist in Niagara's win over UC Davis and then tallied six goals in Sunday's setback to ASU. The six goals match Garlow's career-high and her 19th game with three or more tallies.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Jody Chu, Canisius
So., South Riding, Va., Freedom

Sophomore goalkeeper Jody Chu made 10 saves on 27 shots faced in the Griffs 11-6 win over George Washington to begin the year 1-0.


Rookie of the Week
Megan Previdi, Canisius
Fr., Montclair, N.J., Montclair
 
In her first collegiate game against George Washington, Freshman attacker Megan Previdi tallied her first collegiate goal and added two assists for three points in the Griffs 11-6 win.
 
 
The 2024 MAAC Women's Lacrosse Championship will take place between April 28 and May 5, 2024. The six-team, single-elimination tournament will open on Sunday, April 28 with the opening round hosted by the higher seed of each matchup. The semifinals and championship final will be hosted by the top overall seed in the field and will be played on Friday, May 3 and Sunday, May 5. Current conference members include: Canisius University, Fairfield University, Iona University, Manhattan College, Marist College, Mount St. Mary’s University, Niagara University, Quinnipiac University, Rider University, Saint Peter’s University, and Siena College. Merrimack College and Sacred Heart University will join the MAAC as full members in the 2024-25 academic year, expanding the conference to 13 institutions.
