Greg Gordon, Iona

On his birthday weekend, junior Greg Gordon had two monster games in two wins for the Gaels. Gordon averaged 31.5 points, 9.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists, two steals and 1.5 blocks while posting a 7-to-1 assist to turnover ratio and a 65.7% field goal percentage. He began the week with a 35-point, 12-rebound double-double, his sixth of the season. The 35 points were a career-high and he became the 21st player in program history to score 35-or-more-points and the first in four seasons. In the game he was 13-of-18 from the field (72.7) percent while adding three blocks, two steals and two assists. On Sunday, he netted 22 of his 28 points in the second half, shooting 10-for-17 with six rebounds and a career-best five assists. This weekend he scored 8.0 points more than the second highest competitor, ranked No. 4 in rebounds, and No. 1 in assist-to-turnover ratio.
Rookie of the Week
Jeremiah Quigley, Iona

Freshman Jeremiah Quigley helped lead the Gaels to two wins this weekend at home, averaging 18.5 points, 4.5 assists, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.0 steals with a 4.5-1 assist-to-turnover ratio and shooting 52.9% from the field vs. Fairfield and Rider. Quigley posted a season-best 20 points on Friday shooting 6-fo-9 (66.7%) from the field and a perfect 7-of-7 from the line and posted four rebounds and two assists. Against the Broncs on Sunday, he had 17 points, connecting on 11-fo-16 from the charity stripe with seven assists and three rebounds. His 18.5 points per game was most among MAAC rookies last week and 18 free throws made led all MAAC players.
