Fairfield’s Morris, Rider’s Walsh, and Canisius’ Previdi Earn Ticket Smarter MAAC Women’s Lacrosse Weekly Awards

Offensive Player of the Week

Midfielder Katie Walsh stuffed the stat sheet as the Broncs erased a five-goal second-half deficit to defeat Old Dominion. The redshirt-sophomore scored five goals, and added five ground balls and five draw controls.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Claire Morris, Fairfield

Claire Morris had her best week as a Stag, stifling the potent attacks of both Vermont and Drexel in a 2-0 week. Morris mad 21 saves with 15 goals allowed for a .583 save percentage and 7.50 goals against average while playing all 120 minutes in the cage. Morris made a season-high 12 stops in the 12-10 win over Vermont, including four saves on free position shots. In Saturday's win over Drexel, Morris made nine saves in a 12-5 win as Fairfield allowed just two second half goals.
 
Rookie of the Week
Megan Previdi, Canisius
Fr., Montclair, N.J., Montclair
 
Freshman Megan Previdi had eight total points, five goals and three assists in the Griffs 2-0 week. Against Le Moyne, she had three points off one goal and two assists. Against New Hampshire, the freshman recorded a career-high four goals to pair with an assists and ground ball to total five points for the second time in three games.
 
The 2024 MAAC Women's Lacrosse Championship will take place between April 28 and May 5, 2024. The six-team, single-elimination tournament will open on Sunday, April 28 with the opening round hosted by the higher seed of each matchup. The semifinals and championship final will be hosted by the top overall seed in the field and will be played on Friday, May 3 and Sunday, May 5. Current conference members include: Canisius University, Fairfield University, Iona University, Manhattan College, Marist College, Mount St. Mary’s University, Niagara University, Quinnipiac University, Rider University, Saint Peter’s University, and Siena College.
