EDISON, NJ (Mar. 13, 2024) – Coming off of victories at the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Indoor Track and Field Championships, the Rider University Broncs have been selected as the favorites to repeat as champions in both of the MAAC Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field Preseason Coaches’ Polls, as voted on by the league's head coaches.
Picked unanimously in the poll for the second straight season, the Rider Broncs men’s team swept the poll by receiving all eight first-place votes for a total of 64 points. At the 202 championships, the Broncs finishing with a team score of 210, claiming the league’s title. The Broncs will look to win their fourth overall outdoor title, having clinched league trophies in 2011, 2013, and 2023 previously.
On the women's side, Rider received a total of 99 points with nine first place votes to earn the top spot in the poll. The Broncs claimed the 2024 Women’s Indoor Track & Field Championship crown in February and enter the outdoor season as the favorites following a first place finish in 2023. Rider seeks its fifth MAAC outdoor title, winning it all in 2004, 2007, 2013, and 2023
