Marist’s McCaffrey and Patrick, Siena’s Olmstead and VMI’s Rogers Earn Ticket Smarter MAAC Men’s Lacrosse Weekly Awards

Offensive Player of the Week
Caden Olmstead, Siena

Sophomore attacker Caden Olmstead totaled eight points (three goals, five assists) with three ground balls and two caused turnovers in win against Le Moyne and game versus Dartmouth.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Aiden McCaffrey, Marist
Jr., Port Jefferson Station, NY, Comsewogue High School


Junior defender Aiden McCaffrey totaled a career-high six caused turnovers and added four groundballs in the loss at Bellarmine. McCaffrey's 16 caused turnovers are tops in the nation, while his 3.2 caused turnovers per game rank second in the nation, respectively.
 
Face-off Specialist of the Week
Jack Rogers, VMI
So., Suwanee, Ga.
 
Another dominating performance for the Keydet’s Jack Rogers in the circle in VMI’s 15-10 win over Detroit Mercy. Rogers took all of VMI’s 29 face offs, winning 22 for a 75.9% winning percentage. He also contributed 10 ground balls on the day.
 
Rookie of the Week
Collin Patrick, Marist
Fr., Raleigh, NC, Canada, Middle Creek High School
 
Collin Patrick tallied three goals and two assists for five points. He scored 4 points in the second half to lead a Marist comeback on the road at Bellarmine before eventually falling by a goal.
 
 
The 2024 MAAC Men's Lacrosse Championship will take place between April 27 and May 4, 2024. The six-team, single-elimination tournament will open on Saturday, April 27 with the opening round hosted by the higher seed of each matchup. The semifinals and championship final will be hosted by the highest MAAC full member school in the field and will be played on Thursday, May 2 and Saturday, May 4. Current conference members include: Canisius University, Fairfield University, Iona University, Manhattan College, Marist College, Mount St. Mary’s University, Niagara University, Quinnipiac University, Rider University, Saint Peter’s University, and Siena College. Merrimack College and Sacred Heart University will join the MAAC as full members in the 2024-25 academic year, expanding the conference to 13 institutions.
