Niagara’s Savage and Huhtala, Quinnipiac’s Kennedy Named as Ticket Smarter MAAC Women’s Lacrosse Weekly Award Winners

Offensive Player of the Week
Andra Savage, Niagara

Savage tallied nine goals and two assists for a total of 11 points in Niagara's 2-0 week. The Purple Eagle scored four times in the win over Le Moyne and then tallied a season-high five on Sunday against Marquette where she also added two assists. She also totaled nine draw controls, eight ground balls, and two caused turnovers on the week.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Sydney Huhtala, Niagara

Huhtala recorded a season-high four caused turnovers and five ground balls in Sunday's win 19-17 over Marquette while posting three caused turnovers and three ground balls in Wednesday's win over Le Moyne. On the week she caused seven turnovers and picked up eight ground balls. She also won a total of 10 on the draw.
 
Rookie of the Week
Maggie Kennedy, Quinnipiac

Kennedy jumped onto the college scene with a hat trick in Wednesday's matchup. They were her first career goals, scoring three on five shots. She also added a ground ball, caused turnover and draw control in the game.
 
The 2024 MAAC Women's Lacrosse Championship will take place between April 28 and May 5, 2024. The six-team, single-elimination tournament will open on Sunday, April 28 with the opening round hosted by the higher seed of each matchup. The semifinals and championship final will be hosted by the top overall seed in the field and will be played on Friday, May 3 and Sunday, May 5.
