Aaron Sorkin went 3-0 in AC Match Play over the weekend to assist in earning the Mountaineers a championship title. Sorkin beat Monmouth's Ethan Lee 2 & 1. In MAAC action, Sorkin went 2UP on Iona's Fletcher Wunderlich and 2 & 1 over Fairfield's Shane DeVincenzo.
Women’s Golfer of the Week
Leeyen Peralta, Quinnipiac
Gr., Brea, Calif., Cornelia Connelly
Leeyen Peralta captured the FDU Invitational individual crown, while also leading Quinnipiac to a team championship. Peralta shot a 74 (+2) in round one, 72 (E) in round two, and 70 (-2) on the final day to capture her fourth championship of the year. Her four championship wins sets a new program record.
The 2024 MAAC Men's & Women's Golf Championships take place April 19-21, 2024 in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. The championships return to Disney's Golf Course in Lake Buena Vista, Florida for the 13th consecutive season dating back to 2011 and the 22nd time overall since 2000. With 11 institutions strongly bound by the sound principles of quality and integrity in academics and excellence in athletics, the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) is in its 43rd year of competition during the 2023-24 academic year. Current conference members include: Canisius University, Fairfield University, Iona University, Manhattan College, Marist College, Mount St. Mary’s University, Niagara University, Quinnipiac University, Rider University, Saint Peter’s University, and Siena College. Merrimack College and Sacred Heart University will join the MAAC as full members in the 2024-25 academic year, expanding the conference to 13 institutions.
