Mount St. Mary’s Fahey and Rider’s Burgess, Vetere, and Schein-Becker Earn MAAC Outdoor Track & Field Weekly Awards

Women’s Track Performer of the Week:
Teagan Schein-Becker, Rider
Gr., Trappe, PA, Perkiomen Valley
 
Distance runner Teagan Schein-Becker won both the 800 and 1500 at the highly competitive Bison Outdoor Classic and both were Bucknell Facility Records. She won the 1500 in 4:14.33, which is currently #22 time in the NCAA. It is #1 time in the MAAC by over 13 seconds. She ran 2:04.44 in the 800 which is the top time in the MAAC by over 7 seconds. It is also the #34th time in the NCAA.
 
Women’s Field Performer of the Week:
Gabby Vetere, Rider
So., Turnersville, NJ, Washington TWP
 
Sophomore Gabby Vetere finished 2nd in the B heat of the pole vault at the Duke Invitational, clearing 3.70m. It is the #2 mark all-time for Rider, an ECAC qualifying mark, and the #1 mark in the MAAC.
 
Men’s Track Performer of the Week:
Artie Burgess, Rider
Sr., Coatesville, PA, Coatesville

Senior Artie Burgess ran on the Rider Record 4x100 meter relay, running 40.87, at the Duke Invitational. He also finished 2nd in the 100m, running 10.40 and finished 4th in the 200, running 21.19. Both are IC4A qualifying marks. The 4x100 is the top time in the MAAC and the 100 and 200 are both the #2 marks in the MAAC.
 
Men’s Field Performer of the Week:
Arran Fahey, Mount St. Mary's
Jr., Oceanside, Calif., Vista
 
Junior Arran Fahey improved on his pole vault mark at the Larry Ellis Invitational, jumping to 4.95 meters. Increases his MAAC lead to .55 meters over the nearest challenger. Tied an outdoor season personal record for himself.
 
 
 
The 2024 MAAC Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships will be held on Saturday and Sunday, May 4-5, 2024, at Michael P. Brady Track & Field Complex in Lawrenceville, NJ, hosted by Rider University. With 11 institutions strongly bound by the sound principles of quality and integrity in academics and excellence in athletics, the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) is in its 43rd year of competition during the 2023-24 academic year. Current conference members include: Canisius University, Fairfield University, Iona University, Manhattan College, Marist College, Mount St. Mary’s University, Niagara University, Quinnipiac University, Rider University, Saint Peter’s University, and Siena College. Merrimack College and Sacred Heart University will join the MAAC as full members in the 2024-25 academic year, expanding the conference to 13 institutions.
