LAKE BUENA VISTA, FL (Apr. 17, 2024) –The 2024 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Men’s and Women’s Golf Championships will begin on Friday, April 19 and conclude on Sunday, April 21 at Disney’s Palm Golf Course in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.
The MAAC Championships are a three round, 54-hole tournament, that will have the final round of the competition being broadcasted live on ESPN+ at 10 am. The 2024 championships will mark the 13
th consecutive season the championships are hosted at Disney’s Golf Course dating back to 2011, and the 22
nd overall time since 2000. The Walt Disney World Resort golf courses are operated by Arnold Palmer Golf Management.
On the men’s side, Siena College was selected unanimously as the 2024 MAAC preseason favorites. The Saints claimed the 2023 MAAC Men’s Golf title and are looking to repeat this outcome. The Saints currently have a 296 scoring average and are led by 5
th years Matthew Ferrari and Nolan Crowley, who have both won MAAC Golfer of the week honors.
Other men’s teams in action will be: Canisius University, Fairfield University, Iona University, Manhattan College, Mount St. Mary’s University, Niagara University, Rider University, Saint Peter’s University and Siena College.
On the MAAC Women’s golf side, UAlbany was selected as the preseason favorites, earning four first place votes from the coaches’ poll. The Great Danes have finished in second place that past two years and are looking to claim the MAAC championship title this year. The 2023 MAAC Rookie of the Year Lucia Esteban is returning for the Great Danes, hoping to help her team claim the title.
The women’s field include: UAlbany, University of Dayton, Fairfield University, La Salle University, Loyola Chicago University, Mount St. Mary’s University, Niagara University, Quinnipiac University, and Siena College.
