Iona’s Balyan, Fairfield’s Beltran, and Siena’s Whitney Earn LEVY Recognition Golfer of the Week Honors

Freshman Sahir Balyan was the MAAC's top finisher at the Battle At Rum Pointe. He finished one-under par for two rounds of the event and finished in a solo second place. He shot +1 (73) in round one, then came back on day two and shot two-under (70). He carded seven birdies and one eagle leading the Gaels to a third place team finish.
 
Co-Women’s Golfer of the Week
Maria Beltran, Fairfield
Gr., Rosario, Argentina, St. Bartholomew's School
 
Maria Beltran tied for 10th place in a 69-golfer field, leading Fairfield Women's Golf to a share of fourth place at the Women's Intercollegiate at Prospect Bay. Beltran fired a final round 73 (+1) to cap a 233 over the 54-hole event and surge into the top 10.

Sophomore Mackenzie Whitney led the Saints with a score of +28, 244 (86, 79, 79) to tie for 24th at the JEL Golf Intercollegiate.
 
The 2024 MAAC Men's & Women's Golf Championships take place April 19-21, 2024 in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. The championships return to Disney's Golf Course in Lake Buena Vista, Florida for the 13th consecutive season dating back to 2011 and the 22nd time overall since 2000. Current conference members include: Canisius University, Fairfield University, Iona University, Manhattan College, Marist College, Mount St. Mary’s University, Niagara University, Quinnipiac University, Rider University, Saint Peter’s University, and Siena College. Merrimack College and Sacred Heart University will join the MAAC as full members in the 2024-25 academic year, expanding the conference to 13 institutions.
