Quinnipiac’s Arakaki and Fairfield’s Loeffler Pick Up MAAC Tennis Weekly Award Honors

Men’s Player of the Week:

Senior Ayato Arakaki went 4-0 in last week's MAAC matches. On Wednesday, He won his No. 2 singles match against Catala of Marist 6-1, 1-6, 6-3 after winning his No. 3 doubles match with partner Donovan Brown 6-4. On Saturday, Arakaki teamed up with Donovan Brown again at No. 3 doubles, winning 7-6(2) before winning at No. 2 singles in three sets, 6-3, 3-6, 6-3, over Varella of Siena.
 
Women’s Player of the Week:
Nicolette Loeffler, Fairfield

Freshman Nicolette Loeffler went 3-0 in an unbeaten week for Fairfield Women’s Tennis. The rookie was victorious on the singles and doubles courts in Friday’s 4-3 win at Siena. She earned a straight-set win at #3 singles and teamed with Laina Campos to clinch the pivotal doubles point at the #3 spot. On Saturday, she moved up to the #2 spot in singles and picked up the win in a tiebreaker as the Stags swept Merrimack, 7-0.
 
The 2024 MAAC Men's & Women's Tennis Championships will take place on April 20-21 at Mercer County Park Tennis Center in West Windsor, NJ. The 2024 Championships will be the 12th consecutive time the event is held at Mercer County Park Tennis Center dating back to the 2012 MAAC Men's & Women's Tennis Championships.
