Rider Sweeps MAAC Outdoor Track & Field Weekly Awards

 
Women’s Track Performer of the Week:
Teagan Schein-Becker, Rider
Gr., Trappe, PA, Perkiomen Valley
 
Distance runner Teagan Schein-Becker won the college championship 1500m at the Penn Relays in 4:09.87. It is a Rider Record, the #12 time in the NCAA, and the #1 time in the MAAC by over 17 seconds.
 
Women’s Field Performer of the Week:
Grace Ramsey, Rider
Sr., Schwenksville, PA, Perkiomen Valley
 
Senior thrower Ramsey finished 6th in the college javelin in 42.05 meters at the Penn Relays. The mark is an ECAC qualifier and the #1 mark in the MAAC.
 
Men’s Track Performer of the Week:
Artie Burgess, Rider
Sr., Coatesville, PA, Coatesville

Artie Burgess ran on the 4th place Championship of America Sprint Medley Relay at the Penn Relays in a time of 3:21.89. He also finished 17th in the Championship of America 100 meters running 10.57. That mark is also an IC4A qualifying mark.
 
Men’s Field Performer of the Week:
Jayden DuBard, Rider
Jr., Buffalo, NY, Cheektowaga
 
Junior thrower Jayden DuBard won the shot put at the TCNJ Lions Invitational in 17.50m. It is a new Rider Record, #1 mark in the MAAC by over 7 feet. He also finished 6th in the college shot put at the Penn Relays with a mark of 16.45 meters, an IC4A qualifying mark.
 
 
The 2024 MAAC Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships will be held on Saturday and Sunday, May 4-5, 2024, at Michael P. Brady Track & Field Complex in Lawrenceville, NJ, hosted by Rider University. With 11 institutions strongly bound by the sound principles of quality and integrity in academics and excellence in athletics, the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) is in its 43rd year of competition during the 2023-24 academic year. Current conference members include: Canisius University, Fairfield University, Iona University, Manhattan College, Marist College, Mount St. Mary’s University, Niagara University, Quinnipiac University, Rider University, Saint Peter’s University, and Siena College. Merrimack College and Sacred Heart University will join the MAAC as full members in the 2024-25 academic year, expanding the conference to 13 institutions.
