LOUDONVILLE, NY – The Siena Men's and Women's Soccer programs continue to excel off the field. Both squads have once again earned United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Awards, with the women receiving the honor for the 22
nd consecutive year, and the men earning their eighth straight award and 12
th in the past 14 seasons.
Siena was one of just 102 colleges and universities nationally across all divisions – and the only Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference institution – to have both its men's and women's soccer programs recognized for achieving a 3.0 or better team cumulative grade-point average during the 2023-24 academic year.
Under the direction of head coach Steve Karbowski, the women's soccer team achieved a stellar 3.69 GPA for the 2023-24 school year, raising the program's overall cumulative GPA to 3.60. A total of 20 members from last year's roster were recently named to the MAAC Academic Honor Roll for maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.20 or higher. Moreover, the Saints achieved a perfect multi-year APR score of 1,000 for the third straight year, according to the latest NCAA Division I Academic Progress Rate Report released in June.
Led by head coach Graciano Brito, the men's soccer squad posted a 3.55 GPA this past school year, raising the program's overall cumulative GPA to 3.36. The men's soccer team also placed 20 members on the MAAC Academic Honor Roll last month.
