EDISON, NJ (Sep. 27, 2024) – The 2024 league slate opens for Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) volleyball this weekend with all 12 conference teams in action on Saturday, September 28 and Sunday, September 29.
The conference season gets underway on Saturday at noon when Canisius takes on Siena in Buffalo, NY.
Saturday will be highlighted by a pair of marquee match ups set for 1:00 p.m. first serves, with two contests that will feature all four semifinalists from 2023. Defending MAAC Champion Fairfield will travel to Iona, and last season’s championship runner-up Quinnipiac will host Rider in the two premiere matches.
Both Sacred Heart and Merrimack begin its inaugural campaigns in the MAAC with the Pioneers traveling to Riverdale, NY to face Manhattan at 4:00 p.m. and the Warriors welcoming Saint Peter’s to North Andover, MA at 7:00 p.m.
Sunday’s stanza will be headlined by a top-five meeting between Saint Peter’s and Quinnipiac in Hamden, CT and a matchup between Sacred Heart and Iona in New Rochelle, NY, with both games starting at 1:00 p.m.

The 2024 MAAC Volleyball Championship is an eight-team, single-elimination championship taking place November 21-24, 2024 at UHY Center in Loudonville, NY on the campus of Siena College. The first round will take place on Thursday, November 21, followed by the second round on Friday, November 22, the semifinals on Saturday, November 23, and concluding with the championship final on Sunday, November 24.
