Offensive Player of the Week
Zach Gardner, Siena

Zach Gardner drove the Siena attack in the team's 2-0 MAAC-opening win over Saint Peter's on Saturday. The senior led the team with a career high six shots with five coming on-goal. He provided the game-winning goal in the 34th minute after collecting a rebound off a Peacocks' team save, quickly gathering the ball and striking it through to the left side of the net. The game-winner moved him into the top-five all-time program leaders in Saints history.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Fernando Schmelz, Iona
Fr., Lisbon, Portugal, CAISL
 
Fernando Alves Schmelz had a stellar conference play debut for the Iona University men’s soccer team this past Saturday. He earned his first career shutout in goal as the Maroon & Gold earned a 1-0 victory over the defending champions, Rider. Schmelz stopped four shots in the first half and two more in the second half on his way to a career-high six saves against the Broncs.
 
Rookie of the Week
Devin Zachry, Fairfield
Fr., Mission Viejo, CA, Capistrano Valley
 
Devin Zachry registered two assists in Fairfield's 2-1 win over Marist College in the MAAC opener. He sent a through ball to set up the first goal in the 25th minute and his header created the game-winning goal opportunity in the 40th minute. He also gained a start and played 42 minutes in a 0-0 draw with #24 UConn earlier in the week. He leads the team with four assists on the season.
 
The 2024 MAAC Men’s Soccer Championship is an eight-team, single-elimination championship taking place November 10-17, 2024. Each match during the championship will be hosted by the higher seed and all rounds of the championship will reseed. The quarterfinals will take place on Sunday, November 10, followed by the semifinals on Thursday, November 14, and concluding with the championship final on Sunday, November 17.
