Men’s Swimmer of the Week
Sean Finley, Niagara
Sr., Manhattan, IL
Senior Sean Finley showcased his versatility in Niagara's decisive win over Canisius, winning both breaststroke events convincingly. After contributing to the Purple Eagles' victory in the 200 medley relay (1:30.71), Finley dominated the individual breaststroke events, taking first in both the 100 (55.40) and 200 (2:01.46). He wrapped up his meet by putting together a strong performance in the 200 individual medley, touching first in 1:52.52 to complete his perfect day of individual events.
Men’s Diver of the Week
Ethan Gibbs, Marist
Jr., Long Beach, CA, St. John Bosco High School
Ethan Gibbs placed on the podium in both the one-meter and three-meter dives for the Red Foxes against Bryant. Gibbs placed second in the three-meter dive with an impressive score of 259.13 in the meet. Gibbs continued his impressive meet with a third-place finish in the one-meter dive with a score of 211.65.
Women’s Swimmer of the Week
Alaina Pitton, Niagara
So., Portland, OR
Sophomore Alaina Pitton delivered a stellar performance for Niagara swimming against Canisius, headlined by her MAAC record-breaking swim in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:15.43). Her dominant day began with aiding in Niagara's win in the 200-medley relay (1:43.28), followed by a program-record time in the 100 breaststroke (1:01.35). She capped off her meet by leading off the victorious 200 freestyle relay (1:35.20), helping the Purple Eagles sweep all relay events.
Women’s Diver of the Week
Lola Barrett, Sacred Heart
Sr., Wakefield, Mass., Wakefield Memorial
The Pioneers defeated CCSU 178-175 over the weekend. Senior Lola Barrett secured a NCAA Zone Qualifying score, school record and pool record in the 1M dive with a score of 278.55. She continued a record-breaking meet on day two, breaking the CCSU pool record with her first place 3M score of 286.35.
The 2025 MAAC Men's & Women's Swimming & Diving Championships is a four-day meet that will take place February 12-15, 2025, and will be hosted at SPIRE Academy in Geneva, Ohio. 2025 will mark the second straight year the championships are hosted at SPIRE.
